Restore from backup

Restoring from network volume backups creates a new disk with the same type and size as the original disk.

The backup restore time depends on the backup volume. For example, a 100GB backup will be restored in 11 minutes. During recovery, the network disk from which the backup was taken will be in RESTORING-BACKUP status.

You cannot restore from a backup to the original disk or to a new cloud server. The recovered disk can be attached to a cloud server or create a new server from it.

  1. In Control Panel, go to Cloud PlatformDisks.
  2. From the menu ( ) of the disk, select Recover disk from backup.
  3. Select a restore point — this is the point in time at which the backup was taken.
  4. Enter the name of the new disk.
  5. Click Create Disk.
