Manage PTR records

A PTR record, or reverse resource record, allows you to give a name (domain) to an IP address. For example, mail servers check the PTR record of the sender's IP address.

Add PTR record

  1. In Control Panel, go to Network ServicesIP Addresses.
  2. From the IP address menu, select Add PTR.
  3. Enter a domain name (of the form example.com).
  4. Click Save.

Edit PTR record

  1. In Control Panel, go to Network ServicesIP Addresses.
  2. From the IP Address menu, select Edit PTR.
  3. Enter a new domain name (of the form example.com).
  4. Click Save.

Delete PTR record

  1. In Control Panel, go to Network ServicesIP Addresses.
  2. From the IP Address menu, select Delete PTR.
  3. Press Delete.
