Download the cloud server in Rescue and Diagnostic mode
If the cloud server does not boot or you cannot connect to it, boot it in Rescue recovery and diagnostic mode. Once booted, you can access the server file system, run diagnostics, and restore the operating system.
In Rescue mode, a recovery environment based on the Linux operating system is booted. Pre-installed system diagnostic and recovery tools are available — see list of utilities.
- Boot the cloud server into Rescue recovery and diagnostic mode.
- Connect to server.
- When the server recovery and diagnostic work is complete, exit Rescue mode.
Upload the server to Rescue
- In Control Panel, go to Cloud Platform → Servers.
- Open the Servers tab.
- From the server menu ( ), select Rescue Mode.
- Click Download to Rescue. The server will go to RESCUE status.
Connect to the server
You can connect to the cloud server in Rescue mode via the console in the control panel or via SSH.
Exit Rescue mode
- In Control Panel, go to Cloud Platform → Servers.
- Open the Servers tab.
- From the ( ) server menu, select Log out of rescue.
